Cheap Eats. Big Flavor.
The Dog Days Are Delicious.
You know that feeling when you're craving a good ol' fashioned hot dog but you’re being “financially responsible”? Well, fear no more. On the corner of 6th and Junett, Red Hot in Tacoma has got you covered. In peanut butter, mac and cheese, and beer? Maybe. In delicious food on a budget? Definitely.
Red Hot was an easy choice for cheap eats. But despite what I said earlier about a good ol' fashioned hot dog, these are not your average dogs. These are elevated experiences. Transcendent, some may say. And before you scoff at peanut butter and bacon on a hot dog, roll your sleeves up and give it a try. You might surprise yourself.
If that's not your vibe, the banh mi dog and the BLT dog are both worth your time. Crisp, light, fresh, the kind of bite that makes you wonder why you ever doubted a hot dog could do all that.
And if you're plant based, Red Hot has you covered too. Their vegan menu is extensive and genuinely impressive. The atmosphere is friendly, warm, and a little bit gritty. The kind of place where the hand washing directions in the bathroom read a bit like a prayer. In the best way.
And last but not least, order the Frito Pie. An affordable, gloriously indulgent situation: Fritos doused in nacho cheese and beef. Basically your inner child's dream come to life on a tray.
“Red Hot is the move. Budget or not.”
