Tacoma definitely does not have a shortage of burger joints, but Burger Seoul isn’t just any old spot. It’s a bold, unexpected blend of Korean-inspired flavors and American comfort food, and it absolutely belongs on anyone’s list of Tacoma favorites. The concept is smart, the execution is thoughtful, and the food is downright delicious.

This was my first time visiting Burger Seoul, and it left a serious impression. Right at the front doors, we were welcomed by the owner, Young La, whose warmth set the tone for the whole experience. Inside, the space is bright and modern with a bit of an industrial vibe (think concrete floors, clean lines, and metal accents), but there’s also an inviting energy that makes it feel more personal than your average fast-casual joint. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel like you're in good hands.
The menu is small in the best way: well-curated and clearly crafted with intention. You won’t get lost in pages of options here, but you will find something that makes your mouth water just from the description. The balance of familiar burger staples and inventive Korean-inspired twists makes it easy to find something exciting, no matter your comfort level with trying something new.

These 8oz patties are no joke; they’re big, juicy, and seasoned just right. From the first bite, you can tell they’re using high-quality beef, and they know how to cook it. But what makes Burger Seoul truly special is how they layer in flavor. The toppings aren’t just there for looks; they bring boldness, crunch, heat, and sweetness.

On a personal note, eating at new places can be tricky for me because of my sesame allergy. I was a little nervous about dining at a Korean-inspired restaurant (since sesame shows up in a lot of Korean dishes), but the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Not only were there multiple sesame-free options on the menu, but they were also super helpful in making sure everything was safe for me to eat. That kind of care goes a long way.
I ended up ordering the Seoul Burger, and it did not disappoint. It comes stacked on a soft, toasted brioche bun, crucial for handling the cascade of toppings. The burger was layered with fresh ground beef, double sharp cheddar, crisp lettuce, onions, and their signature Seoul sauce. Every bite was rich, balanced, and packed with flavor. The Seoul sauce alone is worth writing home about. Sweet, tangy, a little spicy, and totally addictive.
